Join lupus patients, family, friends and the community on October 11 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for a fundraising walk and resource fair that will raise critical funds for lupus research, education programs, and patient and family support services for those in our local community.
Thank you for walking with us at the inaugural Walk for Lupus Now San Francisco on Saturday, October 11, at Golden Gate Park! Over 700 walkers registered for Walk for Lupus Now, raising more than $105,000, with more money still coming in! What an incredible feat the San Francisco community accomplished for lupus awareness, support and research! All the money raised at Walk for Lupus Now supports the mission of the Lupus Foundation of America and those living with lupus in the San Francisco community. Remember, donations can be collected and turned in (or made online) until November 7!
A HUGE thank you to all our volunteers who helped with set-up, tear down and everything in-between.
As mentioned Saturday morning, the t-shirts were stuck on a derailed train somewhere in the Midwest. They have been tracked down! Team Captains and individual walkers, please keep an eye out for an email in the next few days requesting t-shirts sizes. Thanks for your patience and understanding. For those who earned incentives, we will email you in late November to arrange your incentive.
Thank you again for your support! Walk for Lupus Now would not have been possible without YOU! We look forward to seeing everyone next year! If you'd like to be a part of the Planning Committee for Walk for Lupus Now San Francisco 2009, please email me, Christi Rauth, at rauth@lupus.org (please include San Francisco in your subject line).
Congratulations San Francisco on an EXCELLENT inaugural Walk for Lupus Now!
LFA's mission is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, support individuals and families affected by the disease, increase awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and find the causes and cure. |
